A Day in the Life

Look out, here comes Ella!
Checking out her ride...

Bouncing on the mini trampoline

Great grandpa Harold

Great grandma Doris

Will took my grandma's hand. It was so cute!

My mom being a sport and letting me take her picture! Thanks, Mom!!!

Will is fascinated with Roscoe's ears!
One of the greatest things about being a stay at home mom is the ability to take off somewhere for the day. We haven't been doing a lot of this lately because we have been busy potty training and I didn't want to venture off too far. This day we decided to risk it and Will did a great job--no accidents! We started off at the indoor park and then ate some lunch. Both of the kids fell asleep, so I thought, what the heck, let's keep driving and visit some grandparents! We saw my mom at work, then made our way to my grandma Doris' house. Grandpa was feeling well enough to visit and we had a nice time hanging out. After that we went to mom and dad's house. They have a great space for running, climbing and pestering dogs! Will is always entertained by Roscoe. We love that beagle!

Easter

Ella on the move as usual

I only included this because of Daisy :)

Auntie Kristin holding Daisy back :)

The Easter bunny brought Will a shovel so he could help mama with the yard work!

We had a really great Easter this year. I was a little disorganized, but it was lovely. We woke up to find our Easter pails in the morning. It was fun to see Will get excited. Ella didn't really know what was happening! Auntie Kristin stayed the night with us so she was there to experience it. After the morning festivities, Kristin took off for a four mile run. She came back to the house and we went twelve and a half miles together. She was a fab running partner. Running in the morning left me with a good excuse to eat a big dinner!

Weekend in Sisters

Will's not too sure about feeding the llamas

Favorite toy: hotel shower stool

April has been a very busy month for us, as you can probably tell by the lack of blogging. I'm going to attempt to catch up on the happenings. The first weekend in April we traveled to Sisters to watch Mike run an ultramarathon. It was a great weekend for the family. We stayed in a hotel room, which made it extra convenient. Kind of like a mini vacation. Right outside our window were llamas. They provided a lot of entertainment for the kids. I really got a kick out of feeding them. The ultra ended at the high school track, which proved to be a great place to wait around for Mike to finish. It was a beautiful day. Will ran around the track to his heart's content and jumped around on the pole vaulting mat. When Mike came around we made sure to cheer him on. He finished in just under 5 hours. He was still recuperating from an injury and wanted to take this race easy, if you can ever run 34 miles easy! Good job, Mike! We are proud of you!!!

Thoughts on Life

**I wrote this last week and thought it was gone forever. I ended up only losing the last paragraph, which I'll have to try and rewrite at a later date.

Girlfriends are VERY, VERY important. They keep you sane when you're losing it. They also make you lunch when you linger too long at play dates :)

I got a little emotional over poo today. Yeah, that's right. My boy is growing up and went poo in the "big boy" potty today. I was so proud of him. I was nursing Ella so he just went in there all by himself. He was pretty proud too. So cute. He told me, "I did it mommy!". Then he proceeded to list all of the people he wanted to tell. He also said that his grandma and papa would be proud and that they would be happy. Too cute for this mom.
