Boston Marathon 2008

Here are a few pictures from our trip, in no particular order...

Mike's cousin, David, his daughter, Jessica, Mike and Will

Our little cowpoke at the animal farm
Auntie Cheryl brought us to this great animal farm. This is Will looking very serious during the tractor ride. He LOVED this place and didn't want to leave! He had a fun time checking out the animals, saying their names and making animal sounds. It was pretty cute!
Again, at the animal farm...There was a great playground for the little ones. Of course, Will found the cow.
Mike's fan club: Auntie Cheryl, Mike, Auntie Sue with Will, Uncle Ed, Johanna, Kristin, and David
Will, with the best view of the finish line. We were able to spot Mike and cheer him on!
Will and his cousin Travis meet for the first time
Grandpa told Will he could have whatever he wanted in Toys R Us. He took Grandpa by the hand and led him all around the store! He ended up with two Thomas the Train Tank engines.
Mike, Kristin, and Will with the grandparents. It was a beautiful day.

Will checking out shells on Horseneck beach
Auntie Sue took us to this great beach. Ah...sunshine!!! We had a nice picnic lunch, collected shells and put our feet in the ocean (briefly).
Michael's grandma knitted a hat and blanket for the new baby. How sweet!
We spent a day in the city before the marathon. It was great weather!
Mike, our hero
It was another great trip back to Massachussets this year to cheer Mike on for his 4th Boston Marathon. I just adore all of his relatives and they make us feel right at home. We stayed with Mike's Auntie Sue and Uncle Ed for the first half of our trip. Then went to stay with his Uncle Steve and Auntie Cheryl for the second half. We had a lot of trips to visit other relatives in between as well. It was really good to see everyone. During our trip Will started to say, "Kristin", which actually sounded more like Kinin. Close enough, right? Those consonant blends are tough :) Will's auntie also earned the title of au pair. She was so great with Will, I wish she really could come live with us and be my helper!!! Will was even looking for her and calling her name when we were in the airport. He loves his auntie. The weather was incredible the entire time we were there. It was so nice to be in the sunshine. Will charmed his great grandparents and they spoiled him and gave him lots of love. I feel very grateful to be a part of Mike's family.

Daddy and Will
Can you tell that this is Will's head on a dinosaur?

I was so glad to see the sun today! Will and I went for a walk to the park this afternoon. One of these days I will remember to bring my camera. It's such an everyday occurrence for us to get out and go to the park, but at the same time it is so special. He'll never be this little again and it's so precious to see him toddling around and discovering new things.
Last weekend I fulfilled one of my dreams--to see "The Boss" in concert. That's right, I got to see Bruce Springsteen up close. Mike gave me tickets to go see him for Christmas. I could not believe our seats. They were so great! I have the best husband in the world. He always knows just what to get me! When he got up on stage I could not speak and I swear I had tears in my eyes. I could not believe I was actually seeing Bruce in concert! It was totally awesome. He was a non-stop ball of energy. He didn't even let a song end before he was counting off for the next one. It was just amazing to hear that voice from my childhood ringing in my ears and right in front of me on the stage. Wow! I love you, Bruce!!!

Mike's parents came up with us and watched Will that night so we could have our little date. The next day we all went to OMSI together. It was so much fun to see Will run around the play area. He didn't even know where to go, he was so excited! He also enjoyed the dinosaurs and let out a few roars, which was pretty darn cute. Hope you enjoy the pics!
