Two Years Old

Will opening a present from his Uncle Jeff
Trains--Will's favorite thing!
Mom & Dad got Will some building blocks. He's been busy building towers with his dad.
Opening a present from Carolyn & David. It was fun to see Will tearing into his own presents this year without much help!
Carolyn made this fabulous Thomas the Train cake. Isn't she crafty???!!! We were all totally impressed.
Will riding around on his new tricycle. Thanks, Uncle Jeff!
I can hardly believe that I am actually the mother of a two year old. The time has flown by (what a cliche, but so true). I am so proud of this little man! He has brought a lot of joy into our lives. I am so grateful that I have been there for all of the big and small moments of his first two years. I am also grateful for all of the help and support I have received from family and friends to help raise this little one. He is surrounded by so many caring people in his life.
We had a nice little party for Will the day of his birthday. It was pretty low key considering that he just received a baby sister five days beforehand! Both sets of grandparents and Uncle Jeff or Uncle Jeffro, as we affectionately call him, were all here to celebrate. It was good timing for him to receive some new toys to play with. They have been keeping him well occupied while I am busy with Ella.

Happy 4th of July

Mike Luvin lost a bet and had to wear this outfit. This is why I love my husband so dearly. He's totally outrageous and such a good sport. It was hilarious to see him in this get up! Looking good, Mike!!! Let me tell you that it was a lot better in person. By the way, Mike set a PR for his 10k time. Maybe he was in a hurry to get to the finish line and change his clothes!
Waiting for fireworks to start on the riverfront
Carolyn and David came over and barbecued with us. Afterwards we all went to the Red, White and Blue Festival.
Just thought I would add a belly pic. I'm almost there! One week until my due date and I'm feeling pretty good.

Thomas the Train

Mike got tickets for all of us to go see Thomas the Tank Engine at the Mt. Hood Railroad. We had a really good time together. I think the most exciting part for Will was riding the bus that shuttled us out to the railroad. He was really upset when we had to get off the bus! When we arrived there were a bunch of activities for the kids. Then it was time for Will to ride his first train. He got a little antsy during the trip, but I think he enjoyed himself. When we got back on the bus to leave he said, "Bye, Thomas". Dang cute!
Afterwards, we stopped off and went for a short hike. Mike knows of a place in town where the salamanders gather. It was nice to get out of the car and walk, even though it was sweltering outside. I think the salamanders were even hanging out in the shade because they were a little hard to spot. All in all it was a good day with my little family.

What's Been Going On...

Will and Uncle Carlos slide through a log at the zoo. Isn't Uncle Carlos fun? Will started saying his name during our visit.

Will shows his Daddy the sights
Transitioning to a big boy bed is hard work!
Having fun at the Teddy Bear Picnic
Our family has been busy the last few weeks. A few weekends ago we combined father's day and Carolyn's birthday with a trip to the zoo. We met at Kristin and Carlos' apartment, where Kristin had a fabulous lunch made up for us. She was quite the hostess! Then we took off to the zoo. It was so fun to see Will get all excited about everything. He could hardly contain himself!
Will is sleeping in a big boy bed now. The picture from above is from a night he had trouble falling asleep. I left the room. He knew if he went too far I would just pick him back up and put him into bed. He ventured out into the hallway and just laid down and fell asleep. I had to capture that moment!
The last picture is the only one I got from the Teddy Bear Picnic. Our library puts on the event. We laid out a blanket and ate some snacks while a music group played. It was fun for a while! I tried to get more pictures, but Will did not want to cooperate. I think the shot that I got captures the essence of that entire day!
