The Brag Post

My new curtains

Two brags: Will wrote his name on the easel the other day. Mike was so proud of him he took his picture beside it. I must add the disclaimer that although I am a school teacher by trade I'm not really into pressuring my child to perform academically. I want them to be intrinsically motivated to learn new things. The top wishes I have for my kids are that they are thoughtful and imaginative. That being said, it's still fun to see them learn to write their name for the first time!
The other brag is that I made my own curtains. Any of you that sew know that making curtains is really not that hard of a task, but I'm still proud of myself for getting it done! :) I think I must be nesting already!

Mission Accomplished...Finally!

Katie with her brand new quilt
It took me a while, but I finally finished Katie's quilt. I posted forever ago about the beginnings of this project. Here is the finished product. It always takes me a while...but at least it is complete and Katie has some of the winter left to cozy up with her new quilt! My mom deserves credit for the binding. I may never learn to do this part of the quilt. I knew if I left it at her house long enough she wouldn't be able to resist finishing it up, heh, heh. Thanks, Mom!

Go Beavs!

What a Dad!

Can life get much better than this?
This past weekend Mike asked me if I could have anything to eat at that particular moment, what would it be? After some thought, the answer was a soft pretzel with fake cheese. Doesn't that sound good? So we thought about where we could possibly go to get one. Was there anywhere we could go in town? The only option we came up with was to go to a Beaver basketball or baseball game. Mike even did some research to see if there was a game playing at that moment. No such luck, our timing was off. By that time all I could think about was a soft pretzel, but I had a plan. I would be visiting a friend who lives near a mall in a few days. I could surely hold out until then. My plan came to fruition and I indulged in my pretzel even though it meant dragging my two children into a mall during their naptime. They were pretty good sports about it since it involved them getting a snack as well. That night Mike came home to tell me that he bought us tickets to the basketball game this week. Woo-hoo! More soft pretzels in my future! We also realized that we had not been to a Beaver game in ages and it would be fun to go as a family. You never know where a craving can take you! In case there are any of you out there that aren't aware, I am pregnant and I am having some cravings. We had a great time at the game. We ended up retreating to the very last row so the kids could walk around. Will was marching up and down rooting for the Beavers. Ella was grooving to the pep band. Mike and I enjoyed a great game, which the Beavers won! All in all a great night!
