*Phone call from Katie Jane. Even though we don't get to have the lengthy conversations that we were once accustomed to, it's still nice to chat.
*Lunch with friends and children. I always admire us when we go out to eat in a public place. It's no easy feat to do this and keep your kids under control. Ella did manage to do a somersault on a concrete floor. Is that considered under control? It was a highlight for me anyway!
*Listening to good music thanks to Mike's buddy Eric who made us some cds. Also thanks to his wife's good taste in music, three of the cds are from her mixes. I should have music playing all of the time in this house. The kids have been dancing all over the place. In fact Ella has been saying the word dance a lot and then grabbing Will's hand to boogie.
*Playing in the park before the rain came. I actually thought for a moment that the sun was on it's way. Then it downpoured this afternoon. Oh well.
*Last day of Will's class. We have a great group of parents and children in there. The teacher has a wealth of patience, which continues to astound me. I also have to add that it's not merely a wealth of patience, but genuine love and concern for all of those little kiddoes in there. She's amazing and all of the children just love her to bits and pieces. She tells a story with props during each class. I was one of the people in charge of cleaning up today so I left Will and Ella to fend for themselves during this particular story hour. I looked up from washing dishes and saw Will with his arm around Ella. Mama bliss. Another moment came towards the end of class. They always sing a little goodbye song and Ella adores it. She always claps and does a little bounce while we all sing. She stands in the middle of everyone and gets her groove on!
*Denying Will fruit, once again. What kind of mom denies their child fruit, really? Just this evening he consumed a big bunch of grapes and shared two peaches with me. C'mon kid, eat some carbs! :) Plus I wanted SOME of the fruit I bought today to be left for tomorrow! I'm so grateful that my kids are drawn to healthy foods most of the time and that we are able to have healthy food in our house.
*Putting baby powder on Ella after her bath. She loved rubbing it all of her little body. It's the simple things in life, right? She has the softest skin and hair. Tonight I was rubbing her little feet in my hands. They are so tiny and precious.

Highlights of My Day
*While I was taking my shower this morning I set the kids up with playdough at the table. Will ended up making me a "biscuit cake with a cherry on top". He was really proud of his creation and I was too, so I had to take this picture. Will said it was for me and then he got his guitar out and started singing happy birthday!
*Ella and Will crouched down observing the rain flowing down the hill. They were fascinated with the water and a humongous worm that looked like he was testing the water, deciding if he would get in and swim. Could he keep up with the current? Will was throwing sticks and leaves into the "river". At one point he laughed hysterically when the worm finally did decide to get into the water and he whoosed down the hill. Will ran after him, of course, laughing all the way. We talked about how it was kind of like a water slide for our little friend, the worm. Rain is so much fun. We should have just played in it all day for our morning activity!
*Mike picked up our first CSA box today from a local farm. That means we will be getting a box full of fruit and veggies each week into the fall. Woo-hoo! Half of it's gone already!
*Ella's continual snuggles. Riding on my hip is one of her favorite spots. While she is doing this she also likes to suck her thumb and twirl my hair. Ahhhh.
*Mike and I hanging out while the kids played in the bathtub. We were able to actually have a little conversation and laugh at our cute kids together.
*Will and Ella playing together. They scrap sometimes, but most of the time they make quite the pair. They both got into the dress up box at the indoor park today. Will put on a viking hat and pretended to be a bull. After observing another little girl at the park, Ella put on some little heels and click clacked around the gym.
*Feeling the baby moving around inside of me. I think it's the best part of being pregnant.
All these wonderful moments. I need to remember that these are what really count during my day. It's going to be gone in a flash. Sometimes I wish I could bottle them up. Writing them down is a start.
